Let’s Play With Gaga!

10 May

Pop Sensation Lady Gaga has teamed up with Zynga and FarmVille to introduce an exciting new promotion in FarmVIlle, RewardVille and other Zynga games. If you are a fan of her music, you will have the chance to hear her album “Born This Way” a week before it’s publicly released, and those who play RewardVille will be able to redeem exclusive prizes!

The latest loading screen shows a sheep that is clearly inspired by Gaga’s eccentric fashion sense, and the background is hinting at some glitz and glitter coming to the game! (We are personally hoping that FarmVille will introduce a “Poker Face” inspired sheep!)

Level 100 Plus Players Can Expect Farm Cash!

04 May

FarmVille and Zynga have just made the official announcement on their Official Blog that Farmers will now begin to see Farm Cash per level as high as 250! That’s a huge increase from the level 100 that was allowed before. You can now also see the true levels of your neighbors on your neighbors bar.

Your In The Money

Your In The Money

Level 250 + Gives No Cash

Level 250 + Gives No Cash

Note: We are rolling out this change today so please be patient if you don’t have it just yet. You will soon!

Today we’ve started the process of raising the level cap on the Farm Cash reward, which is normally given to you as you go up in level from Level 1 to Level 100. We’re now extending this to Level 250; those of you that have gone up above Level 100 already will have this Farm Cash retroactively added to your account.

Thank you everyone for playing, and we hope enjoy the addition of Farm Cash that can become available to you!

Special Thanks: Goes to FarmVille Feed Reader Carolyn for the image!

FarmVille And Yet Another Breeding Update!

02 May

Hey Farmers,

We have been made aware that current in-game messaging regarding Sheep Breeding is inaccurate and confusing to our customers. This messaging implies that the success rate for color/pattern inheritance is 100% guaranteed, when in fact, it is not.

This messaging was unintentional, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration.

The text will be updated to reflect the feature’s intended design as soon as possible. If you purchased a Ram and/or Ewe from the Market under the assumption that the success rate was guaranteed due to this messaging, please contact our CS department and they will refund your account accordingly. (This means your purchased Rams and/or Ewes will be removed, and the equivalent amount of Farm Cash will be restored to your account.)

Due to the volume of emails from customers during this time, it may take longer than normal for a CS agent to assist you, but they will respond to your request as soon as they are able.

Breeding and White Sheep:

Please know that the intended design of this feature was never a 100% success rate for color/pattern inheritance. We have seen reports from the community indicating that prior to the release of Pig Breeding, the pattern inheritance success rate (from Rams) was unusually high (80 – 100% success rate). This was a bug and the feature is now functioning as intended.

We have also seen reports from players indicating that an unusually high amount of White Sheep are being produced when breeding. As white is a color, it is possible to produce white sheep when the feature is operating normally.

However, we are investigating player reports to determine if more white sheep are being produced than anticipated. Please know that this process is not an easy one and will take time for us to address.

Chameleon Sheep only producing White Sheep:

Currently, the Chameleon Ewe and Rainbow Dots Ram are producing almost exclusively plain white sheep. This is a bug that we are actively working to resolve. We will be releasing a fix for the Chameleon Ewe and Rainbow Dots Ram sometime this week which will result in the color/pattern inheritance success rates to be on par with the other Rams/Sheep in the game.

FarmVille Sheep And Pigs: Round 2!

27 Apr

FarmVille is back at it trying to make more changes to settle the uneasy farmers of the world. They have just made a new statement in the official forums trying to clear the air and make right with patterns of sheep. Take a read below of the Official Statement and leave your feedback.

If you need to refresh your memory on Yesterdays statement, it can be found here.

Well yesterday’s announcement sure caused a bit of commotion. We do understand your point of view, and we don’t want you to feel like those pigs and sheep you claimed from your feed, spent bottles to grow and and then bred more with love potions and more bottles, are all going to waste.

Tonight we’ll be adding two rams into the Market with official patterns: a white starred ram and a white camo ram. Unfortunately we wound up blocking the “hooded” pattern (which you get from Brutus the Ram) the other day and we’ll be putting that back in tonight too.

So yes, all three of these patterns will be now allowed, meaning that after we update tonight you can breed with those patterns if you have them on your farm. And of course you can buy the two rams mentioned above from the Market and breed with them too. Note that the so-called “eye-patch” or “patch” pattern is not an official pattern and may not ever be one since it’s a bit messed up. New pig patterns may not be available for a bit longer.

In the near future we’ll be putting forth brand new patterns as well as colors (including the “flasher” color, which you may see soonish). This will also accompany a bit of a re-vamp about breeding and how it works so it’s a bit more robust and fun, though that’s a wee bit further down the road.

We’re also investigating claims about getting all of one color (notably white) for completely allowed animals, complaints that generally center around FC rams and ewes. So far using various combinations we haven’t reproduced a combination that has generated all whites all the time, though we have seen some other oddities that are under continued investigation.

Finally, there may be some clarification needed regarding breeding and pattern inheritance as it stands today:

  • If the patterns of the parents do not match, there is a chance that the offspring will inherit the father’s pattern.
  • If the patterns of the parents do match, the chance of inheriting that pattern is greatly enhanced.

Okay that should be everything we want to say currently about the state of sheep and pig breeding currently. Please let us know what you think below, but please let it stay civil and within the Terms of Service. Thanks everyone!

New Information On Pig And Sheep Breeding!

26 Apr

This information was just posted on the Official FarmVille Blog. It is basically stating that they have shut down illegal Sheep and Pig breeding and have reverted animals BACK to their original states. “Players who bred sheep and pigs using illicit methods have had their animals revert to their original base colors and no patterns.” also “Pigs and sheep acquired from feed posts (but at some point were generated using illicit methods) will get to retain their unusual colors and patterns. However, attempts to breed with these pigs or sheep will result in default colors and no additional pattern inheritance.”

We wanted to give an update to everyone regarding certain kinds of disallowed sheep that have been available in FarmVille as well as a similar issue that appeared with pigs this past weekend. Certain types of sheep and pig colors/patterns not yet released have been improperly distributed in FarmVille; we are currently going through the process of making sure this practice stops.
The steps that we have taken are:

  • The methods by which players were able to breed unreleased sheep and pig colors and patterns have been closed.
  • Players who bred sheep and pigs using illicit methods have had their animals revert to their original base colors and no patterns.
  • Pigs and sheep acquired from feed posts (but at some point were generated using illicit methods) will get to retain their unusual colors and patterns. However, attempts to breed with these pigs or sheep will result in default colors and no additional pattern inheritance. Should we release these additional colors or patterns legitimately then players will be able to breed that animal in the appropriate, correct manner. This is not an implication that you or your neighbors have done something wrong. This is a breeding restriction of colors and patterns that as of yet have not intended to be released.

So what’s currently allowed to breed and what’s not?

  • Most current colors are allowed but the “flashing” colors are definitely NOT.
  • Currently Allowed Sheep Patterns: Plain, Spotted, Striped
  • Currently Alllowed Pig Patterns: Plain, Spotted

Again, the intention is to stop the distribution of colors and patterns that are not currently intended but not to punish our players who have acquired these animals legitimately. When we do release these colors or patterns, you’ll be able to breed with them just as intended.

What Broke FarmVille?

22 Apr

FarmVille and Zynga have made a Official Statement as to what happened with FarmVille and many other Zynga games on their Official Blog just a few minutes ago. There were two different culprits in the Lockout, 1 Being Sheep and another being an outage on their Amazon Web Server. We here at FarmVilleFeed.com use the same service although we were lucky.

  • #1 The lockout first started around Wednesday night following an update, and more than likely involves an attempt to breed one of two sheep (the red-and-blue polka dot sheep and the Birthday sheep appear to be culprits at this point). It has nothing to do with “illegal” sheep or anything like that (as far as we can tell).
  • While we were attempting to identify this issue, lockout #2 occurred on early Thursday morning. This was something that went way beyond our control, and was wide-reaching enough that while the initial lockout was resolved by late Thursday afternoon, the effects of the root cause are still impacting Zynga at this very moment.
  • We have #1 fixed (we believe), but because the echoes of #2 are still impacting us, we haven’t been able to publish it and fix everyone that’s affected. We hope to do so in a short while but things can change (unfortunately, as you may have already seen).
  • Meanwhile wither and puppy hunger will remain off until this is all resolved. We are very much committed to getting everyone back into FarmVille as soon as possible, and we appreciate everyone’s patience in this matter. Thanks everyone, and we hope to get you back to your farms soon!

Questions: Did you experience the Lockout? Are you still seeing issues with your Farm?

“Illegal” Sheep and Sheep Breeding Changes!

14 Apr

FarmVille made a statement regarding “illegal” sheep, including ones with patterns that have not been released. The methods by which it was possible to attain these sheep have been stopped, but obviously a fair number of these are currently available, and players have been breeding them at a prodigious rate. At this point in time it would be very difficult to determine how someone received one of these sheep—and it is extremely likely that if you saw a feed post or other reference to one of these sheep, the author is someone who acquired/bred that sheep legitimately. Please bear this in mind if you think someone has “cheated.” Chances are, they haven’t been.

We also wanted to let everyone know about a change in how sheep breeding works. Previously when you got three lambs of the same gender in a row, you received a lamb of the opposite gender automatically. Currently we’ve made an alteration to this process so that the chances of getting a ram or a ewe are completely random, though the possibility of getting a ewe is higher than getting a ram.

Finally, the 100 bred sheep limit (which includes current bred lambs and sheep on your farm as well as in your sheep pen or in your Gift Box) applies for each farm. So, for instance, if you have just 75 bred sheep on your English Countryside Farm, you should still have the capability of having 100 bred sheep on your Home Farm.

Questions: What do you think of the Changes? Are things more clear now to all the sheep breeders?

Green Rose Crafting Mastery Sign Issues!

19 Mar

FarmVille and Zynga have noted in their Known Issues thread on the Official FarmVille Forums about the Green Rose Crafting Mastery Signs. After placing a Green Rose Craft Mastery Sign, their mastery progress resets to one star. According to Voltai, a FarmVille Community Specialist, this issue is currently under investigation. There is a current short term work around, if you place your sign(s) in storage and then re place them on your farm they will revert to 5 stars. This only lasts until you leave your farm and then return. We will keep you updated as we receive more information.

Unlike many other Crafting Masteries, these 3 limited edition ones receive 5 stars at just 20 levels instead of the normal 100 that it takes for the others.
